CPI Maoists declare Bharat Bandh today, Security alert in Jharkhand

Ranchi: The Jharkhand Police Headquarters has issued a state-wide alert to all Superintendents of Police (SPs) in light of the ‘Bharat Bandh’ declared by the Communist Party of India (Maoists) on December 22. The police have been notified by the intelligence department that Naxalites may conduct attacks in areas under their influence during the bandh.

Authorities have instructed heightened vigilance during police operations, emphasizing the need to avoid any unnecessary movements that could compromise security. Additionally, there is a significant risk that Naxalites may target Scott vehicles, along with police pickets, camps, and patrolling parties during the bandh.

The alert includes concerns about potential attacks on railway tracks or government property, posing a risk of damage. Particularly, areas with ongoing government construction work are highlighted as potential targets. Security forces are urged to take extra precautions and enhance security measures to thwart any potential disruptions or violence during the ‘Bharat Bandh.’
