Jamshedpur, Jan 6: A meeting to review preparation for Republic Day function was held at the district collectorate under the chairmanship of deputy commissioner Suraj Kumar.
In view of the corona infection, Deputy Commissioner instructed to strictly follow the rules of Covid-19. He said that all the people attending the function would compulsorily ensure to use masks and follow social distancing. The Deputy Commissioner directed the concerned officer to provide sanitizer at the main gate of Gopal Maidan and also to keep sanitizer at various places in the ground.
The Deputy Commissioner directed to use the national flag of Khadi cloth in the district level main function and all government offices.
The police officers present in the meeting were directed that all the contingents participating in the parade would be directed to be present at the scheduled time and to rehearse the parade by following the rules of Covid-19 and law and order and traffic on the day of Republic Day. For the successful maintenance of the system, the concerned officials were directed.
This year five contingents will be involved in the parade of Republic Day celebrations which includes one platoon of JAP-6, three platoon of district police force and one platoon of district Home Guard Force.
Rehearsals for the contingents involved in the parade will be held on January 20, 21, 22, 23 and 24. On January 24, the full dress rehearsal of the parade will be done at Gopal Maidan, which will be jointly inspected by the Deputy Commissioner cum District Magistrate and the Senior Superintendent of Police.
The Civil Surgeon was given the responsibility of arranging ambulances and arranging fire brigade at the main function site.
An organizing committee was constituted for the preparations for organizing the main function at Gopal Maidan.
