COVID infections cross 17k mark in Jamshedpur, active cases down to 175

Jamshedpur, Dec. 9: Coronavirus cases have started to decline in Jamshedpur owing to a greater number of recoveries than fresh cases.

The total number of active cases in Jamshedpur went below 200 mark for the second time since June. Jamshedpur has total of 175 cases with 17 being recorded on Wednesday, December 9. Total COVID infection reached 17,002 mark in Jamshedpur.  

44 people recovered of the virus while no death was reported due to the disease on Wednesday. Jamshedpur has seen a sharp decline in their total cases in the past four weeks. The death remained at 374.

As many as 44 people recovered from the virus on Wednesday taking the overall recoveries to 16453 which accounts for a recovery rate of 97%, which is the highest so far.

East Singhbhum district administration has conducted 151638 test per million in the district. The recovery rate in Jamshedpur is 97% while the mortality rate is 2.2 %.

So far in Jamshedpur 416796 samples have been collected out of which 403660 have been tested and 386658 have turned out to be negative.

On the other hand, Coronavirus tally in the state on Wednesday reached to 1,10,830 as 191 cases of Covid-19 were detected across Jharkhand. During the day 3 deaths was reported  as a result of which the overall death count has reached to 991. The mortality rate among the patients currently stands at 0.89 per cent. As per the information provided by the health department the number of active cases in the state was 1,739 while the number of cured and discharged cases stood at 1,08,100. The total number of death caused by Coronavirus in the state stood at 986.

Despite the rampant rise in Coronavirus cases across the state the recovery rate of Covid-19 patients has improved significantly and has once gone above 97 per cent mark to currently stand at 97.53 per cent in Jharkhand. So far in the state 44,22,964 samples have been collected out of which 44,04,165 have been tested and 42,93,335 have turned out to be negative.
