COVID-19 active cases fall below 200-mark in Jamshedpur, first time since June

Jamshedpur, Dec. 6: Coronavirus cases have started to decline in Jamshedpur owing to a greater number of recoveries than fresh cases.

The total number of active cases in Jamshedpur went below 200 mark for the first time since June. Jamshedpur has total of 194 cases with 10 being recorded on Sunday, December 6. 27 people recovered of the virus while 1 person lost his life to the disease on Sunday. Jamshedpur has seen a sharp decline in their total cases in the past four weeks. Jugsalai block, meanwhile, suffered one more death from the disease, taking the toll to 373.

As many as 27 people recovered from the virus on Sunday taking the overall recoveries to 16358 which accounts for a recovery rate of 97%, which is the highest so far.

East Singhbhum district administration has conducted 148399 test per million in the district. The recovery rate in Jamshedpur is 97% while the mortality rate is 2.2 %.

So far in Jamshedpur 410271 samples have been collected out of which 395039 have been tested and 378114 have turned out to be negative.

On the other hand, Coronavirus tally in the state on Sunday reached to 1,10,278 as 92 cases of Covid-19 were detected across Jharkhand. During the day 7 deaths was reported  as a result of which the overall death count has reached to 986. The mortality rate among the patients currently stands at 0.91 per cent. As per the information provided by the health department the number of active cases in the state was 1,796 while the number of cured and discharged cases stood at 1,07,496. Despite the rampant rise in Coronavirus cases across the state the recovery rate of Covid-19 patients has improved significantly and has once gone above 97 per cent mark to currently stand at 97.47 per cent in Jharkhand. So far in the state 43,56,001 samples have been collected out of which 43,36,774 have been tested and 42,26,496 have turned out to be negative.
