Jamshedpur : In a late Tuesday evening incident, criminals attempted to kidnap Dr. R Pradhan near Golmuri Chowk in Jamshedpur. Quick-thinking Dr. Pradhan raised an alarm, prompting local residents to gather and apprehend the assailants. Both suspects, identified as Ashok Singh and Ravi Shankar Singh from Begusarai, were taken into custody.
The police, informed about the incident, arrived at the scene and initiated an interrogation. SSP Kishore Kaushal disclosed that the cousins were found in possession of a country-made pistol and two live bullets. The duo had arrived in Jamshedpur on December 27th.
According to the SSP, the accused initially misled the police, claiming to have searched for Dr. Pradhan on Google and planning to demand ransom. Further investigation revealed Ashok’s involvement in illegal liquor trade and Ravi Shankar’s previous incarceration for robbery.
The community’s swift response thwarted the kidnapping attempt, ensuring the safety of Dr. Pradhan.
