Court Jails Corrupt Telangana DSP in ₹300-Crore Graft Case

Hyderabad (IANS): A Hyderabad court on Tuesday sent suspended Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Sankireddy Bheem Reddy to Chanchalguda Central Jail under 14-day judicial custody. The anti-graft agency arrested the tainted official on Monday evening after discovering illegal assets worth approximately ₹300 crore in his possession.

The Telangana Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) produced Bheem Reddy—who was posted at Police Computer Services (PCS)—before the designated ACB Court following exhaustive raids. Investigators state that the officer amassed massive disproportionate wealth through systematic corruption and dubious practices throughout his service career.

Secret WhatsApp Diary Exposed the Wealth

The ACB began investigations after recovering a handwritten personal diary from the officer. Bheem Reddy wrote the diary detailing his secret properties, investments, liabilities, and the names of his benamidars right before embarking on a Char Dham pilgrimage with his wife in May.

The accused officer scanned the diary pages and sent them to his two sons via WhatsApp before leaving, leaving behind a digital paper trail for investigators.

The Haul: Over 50 Acres of Land, Villas, and Commercial Blocks

Simultaneous ACB searches across 16 locations in Telangana and Karnataka on July 2 unearthed an astonishing portfolio of real estate and luxury assets:

  • Luxury Real Estate: A premier villa at Vessella Meadows in Ibrahimbagh, a multi-story residential building and an independent flat in Telecom Nagar, a flat in Gachibowli, and two residential flats in Tellapur.
  • Commercial Investments: A shared interest in a massive G+5 commercial complex on Lanco Hills Road in Manikonda, a 3,000 sq. ft. commercial property near Marrichettu Junction, and a ₹75-lakh stake in Sri Raghavendra Rock Sand Minerals.
  • Massive Land Holdings: Nearly 48 acres of agricultural land across Karnataka, 3.5 acres in Sangareddy, multiple acres in Vikarabad and Muchintala, a prime plot near Bengaluru’s Devanahalli, and several open plots in Nagole and Patancheru.

Cash, Gold, and Silver Seizures

Apart from the massive real estate portfolio, the ACB recovery team also seized physical valuables directly from the officer’s primary residence and a benami house:

Asset Type Quantity / Value Seized
Pure Gold Ornaments 2 Kilograms
Silver Articles 20 Kilograms
Hard Cash (Primary House) ₹3.60 Lakh
Hard Cash (Benami House) ₹40.00 Lakh
Liquid Bank Balances ₹19.91 Lakh

The ₹300-crore bust marks one of the largest anti-corruption operations targeting a police officer in Telangana’s history. The ACB is currently interrogating Bheem Reddy’s close associates and suspected frontmen to track down additional hidden investments.
