Jamshedpur, Sept. 21 : In a domestic feud Rina Devi, who is councilor of Adityapur Municipal Council was stabbed on Thursday. She has been admitted at the MGM Medical College Hospital’s intensive care unit with stabbing injury in the stomach and also in the left hand.
The fight took place over claiming of a residential flat. A kin attacked a 35-year-old woman with a knife at S-Type Colony under Adityapur police station area in the adjoining Seraikela-Kharsawan district.
Though the condition of the injured is normal, but the doctors on ICU have kept the victim under observation.
The incident of stabbing on councilor took place today when the councilor and her sister-in-law Bibha Devi fought over grabbing a two-room residential flat by the latter.
According to police, following feud between the two woman, Bibha brought out a knife and stabbed Rina. While saving herself from getting any serious injury she caught hold of the knife, but still she sustained the knife injury in her abdomen.
” We are investigating the incident. As per our probe an assault with knife was made on councilor Rina Devi following a domestic differences. The victim had turned up at the police station with stab injuries. We have sent her to MGM Medical College Hospital where she has been admitted in the ICU,” said OC, Adityapur police station, Vijay Singh.
The officer-in-charge said they are yet to get a formal statement from the councilor. He pointed out as soon as they get a statement they would arrest the accused.
Rina Devi who is a widow has been elected council from Ward No 20 twice from 2012. A large number people, including her supporters and AMC chairman, Radha Sandil had turned up at the medical college hospital to see Rina.
