Jamshedpur/Ranchi, August 6: Four people died of coronavirus in Jharkhand on Thursday, August 6 taking the toll to 146. Two deaths were reported from Jamshedpur while one corona patient each died of the virus in Sahebganj and Garhwa while 647 fresh cases were reported in the state on Thursday.�
Two coronavirus deaths were reported in Jamshedpur on Thursday, August 6 taking the death toll to 62 in East Singhbhum district. 58-year-old Kitadih resident suffering from Pneumonia and cough was admitted to Tata Main Hospital on July 28. The second death on Thursday is reported to be of Tata Steel employee. 57-year-old employee of Tata Steel West Bokaro Division was admitted to TMH with high fever, breathing problems and cough on August 3 and he died during treatment on August 6 evening. With this the total corona death in Tata Steel has climbed to 5. Earlier, three employees of Tata Steel Jamshedpur Plant and one posted at Vizag succumbed to the virus. Earlier, six people died of coronavirus at Tata Main Hospital on Thursday. Total of 73 patients died of the virus at Tata Main Hospital and MGM Hospital in Jamshedpur.
In Jamshedpur the COVID-19 tally has crossed 2500 mark.
116 new cases were reported on Thursday, August 6 taking the East Singhbhum tally to 2547.
The district administration spokesperson informed that 116 corona positives have been identified in the East Singhbhum district on Thursday. All the positives have been admitted to COVID-19 wards.
Other Jharkhand positive cases were reported from Bokaro 12, Deoghar 35, Dhanbad 7, East Singhbhum 116, Garhwa 9, Godda 14, Gumla 5, Hazaribagh 20, Jamtara 3, Khunti 31, Koderma 2, Latehar 35, Lohardaga 7, Palamu 30, Ramgarh 13, Ranchi 267, Sahebganj 5, Seraikela 28, Simdega 6 and West Singhbhum 2. The state corona tally is nearing 16000 mark.

The first case of the pandemic was reported from Hindpiri on March 31, when a 22-year-old Malaysian woman, who had been to Delhi�s Tablighi Jamaat congregation, tested positive. She has since been discharged after being recorded from the dreaded disease. The state has imposed lockdown till July 31. Religious places, malls, saloon, spas, schools, colleges will remain closed till July 31.
The Jharkhand government has ordered an extension of lockdown related restrictions in the state outside containment zones, up to August 31, due to COVID-19 cases.
The order will come into effect from August 1. Meanwhile, Jharkhand government issued measures for the implementation of interstate quarantine protocol, to all Additional Chief Secretary, DGP, Principal Secretary, IG and Deputy IG.
The order said that �All economic activities permitted prior to this order shall remain permitted.�
