Jamshedpur, Sept. 26: Coronavirus cases continue to rise in Jamshedpur. The positive cases have climbed to 12,972 in district with 214 new cases reported on Saturday.
Positive tally has climbed to 12,972 while the death toll has reached 307 with 2 deaths on Saturday. 263 people recovered of the virus on Saturday taking the total recovery to 10704 while total active cases in Jamshedpur are 1961.
The district administration spokesperson informed that 214 corona positives have been identified in the East Singhbhum district on Saturday.
With a total of 1,226 fresh cases of Coronavirus being detected across the state on Saturday the overall tally of Covid-19 patients in Jharkhand has reached 78935.
Six deaths have been reported in Jharkhand on Saturday including 2 each from Jamshedpur, and one each from Bokaro, Dhanbad, Ramgarh and Saraikela.
The overall death count stands at 670 in Jharkhand.
As per the information provided by the health department the number of active cases in the state is 12,426 while number of cured and discharged cases is 65,839.
On Saturday a maximum number of 425 cases were found in Ranchi followed by 214 in Jamshedpur, 67 in Bokaro, 41 in Godda, 35 in Saraikela and 63 in West Singhbhum districts.
A total of 1,324 number of people were also cured and discharged from various dedicated Covid-19 facilities during the day including 263 from Jamshedpur, 318 from Ranchi, 129 from Hazaribagh, 123 from Dhanbad, 72 from West Singhbhum and 36 from Saraikela.
Despite the rampant rise in Coronavirus cases across the state the recovery rate of Covid-19 patients has improved significantly to 83.04 per cent while the mortality rate of Jharkhand is 0.84 %.
The first case of the pandemic was reported from Hindpiri on March 31, when a 22-year-old Malaysian woman, who had been to Delhi�s Tablighi Jamaat congregation, tested positive. She has since been discharged after being recorded from the dreaded disease.
The Jharkhand government has extended the coronavirus pandemic-triggered lockdown in containment zone in the state till September 30. However, all the economic activities in the state are allowed outside containment zones.
