Mail News Service

Jamshedpur, Aug 9: East Singhbhum district administration is making efforts to form a cooperative organization for the farmers of the district in a bid to provide them the right platform to sell their produce. The cooperative organization would ensure that the farmers get the right price for their produce and are also able to augment their income by employing latest agricultural techniques and mutual learning through sharing of knowledge. This was observed by Ravi Shankar Shukla, deputy commissioner, East Singhbhum, at a meeting convened at Jamshedpur Collectorate for the formation of Chamber of Farmers.

Elaborating on the objectives of the proposed Chamber of Farmers, Shukla said farmers worked hard but they very often failed to get the right price for their produce due to lack of appropriate platform and their disorganized nature.

Shukla said the farmers of one block could share their knowledge with farmers of other blocks so that all farmers collectively benefit from it. Chamber of Farmers would help bridge the communication gap between the administration and farmers, he said.
