Ranchi : Chief Minister Raghubar Das urged the Cooperative Banks to see to it that benefits of development projects reach the common man.
He was addressing the gathering while inaugurating the new building of Jharkhand State Cooperative Bank Limited at Hatia in Ranchi.
He asked the Bank to provide banking facilities to people living in rural areas. Das on the occasion distributed micro ATM cards among the Bank officials, launched Bank’s website and inaugurated three loan distribution projects of Jharkhand Coopeative Bank.
Cooperative Banks must take immediate steps to extend benefits of Jan Dhan Yojna to large sections of people living in villages, Das said, adding linking rural population with banking services is one of the objectives of the Jan Dhan Yojna. He further said that if the Banks manage to draw more savings it would help boost the economy.
Cooperative Banks will function on the lines of other public sector Banks to carry out development schemes for the people.
On this chief secretary (Cooperative), Arun Kumar Singh assured that Cooperative Banks will be a partner in ushering in development and carry forward Banking services to all nook and cranny of the State. He said that the Bank will extend the facility of micro ATM to the account holders.
