Controversy erupts as two Bihar teams clash in Ranji match against Mumbai

Patna: The Bihar Cricket Association (BCA) found itself embroiled in a contentious situation on Friday as two teams from Bihar arrived to play a Ranji match against Mumbai. The dispute arose when President Rakesh Tiwari and Secretary Amit Kumar independently selected their respective teams for the match at Moinul Haq Stadium in Patna.

The controversy escalated to the point where both teams, representing conflicting factions within the BCA, reached the stadium on the same day. Tensions flared, leading to a heated argument between the officials before the scheduled start of the match. The situation became so intense that police intervention was required to restore order, enabling the match to commence at 1 pm.
In a dramatic turn of events, the police forcibly escorted the team selected by Secretary Amit Kumar back to a bus, paving the way for the team selected by President Rakesh Tiwari to participate in the match. The conflicting decisions by the association’s top brass not only marred the sporting spirit but also exposed deep-seated divisions within the Bihar Cricket Association.
