Hardoi: In a harrowing incident in the Harpalpur Kotwali area of Hardoi, Uttar Pradesh, a young girl, aspiring for constable recruitment, narrowly escaped a heinous gang rape attempt. The victim, a 19-year-old first-year B.Sc. student, was returning home from coaching when a classmate, hailing from Barnai Chatrakha, accompanied her on a bike.
Shockingly, the situation took a dark turn when the girl was allegedly given intoxicants concealed in Rasgulla, leading to her losing consciousness. Subsequently, she was transported to a secluded house on the Bilhaur-Katra Highway by the acquaintance and his associates. Here, they attempted to carry out the heinous act. After some time, they locked the girl inside the house and left, thinking their crime was complete.
However, displaying tremendous resilience, the young girl managed to escape captivity. She ascended to the second floor of the house using the stairs and courageously jumped to the ground, sustaining serious injuries in the process. Passersby witnessed her plight, and prompt action led to her rescue. Police arrived at the scene swiftly, and the victim was initially admitted to the Community Health Center (CHC) before being transferred to the District Women’s Hospital due to the severity of her condition.
The police have initiated a thorough investigation into the entire incident. The survivor’s condition remains serious, emphasizing the urgent need for justice and comprehensive action against the perpetrators of this horrific crime.
