Contract workers write to Tata Steel MD

Jamshedpur: Members of Jharkhand Steel Theka Mazdoor Sangh, a city-based outfit of contract labourers, today wrote to the managing director of Tata Steel TV Narendran to demand appropriate package for the employees deprived of regularization during the period 1981 to 1990 and employment opportunities for their wards.

The outfit president Ramanath Hansda and secretary Ramdhari Gaur said many tribal and local workers had worked hard to save the company in the time of crisis during the said period.

He said many workers, despite having given their best to the company, were not regularized due to lack of farsightedness.
