Jamshedpur : A delegation of Bhojpuri-speaking people from Jamshedpur will take part in the international Bhojpuri Conference to be held at Mauritius from October 30 to November 4.
The meet will mark the completion of 180 years of Mauritius, Pradeep Kumar Singh, General Secretary of Sampurna Bhojpuri Vikas Manch, an organisation of Bhojpuri-speaking people, said on Sunday.
Delegations from across the world including Thailand, South Africa and Australia will participate, he told a press conference here.
Renowned Bhojpuri singer Bharat Sharma Vyas, who is also president of the Manch, will honour 35 Bhojpuri citizens living in Bangkok for the past several decades with “Bhagirath Samman” for preserving Bhojpuri culture and tradition despite the influence of western culture.
Shashi Bhushan Mishra, Lalit Pandey, Arun Dev Yadav, Umesh Pandey, Rajesh Bhojpuri, Jagdish Mishra, Usha Singh, Ranjan Dubey, Narendra Kumar were present.
