Contract laborer falls from crane and loses life

Chaibasa, Nov 8: A laborer lost his life in a tragic accident after falling from a crane while working on the railway tracks near Singhpokharia railway station, located five kilometers from Chaibasa. The incident took place at 3 pm on Wednesday afternoon. The laborer hailed from Moran Khandait in Iligada, Hatgamharia block. According to reports, a crane was being used to lift a slab from the railway track, with the worker positioned on top of the crane without wearing a safety belt. Tragically, he slipped and fell, resulting in a fatal outcome.

Upon receiving information about the incident, both the police administration and railway officials arrived at the scene to initiate an investigation. Additionally, Jharkhand Kamgar Union Central President and Jhinkapani Zilla Parishad member John Miran Munda visited the location and accused the contractor of violating safety regulations.
