Jamshedpur, Nov 16: The construction of the much-anticipated flyover in Mango is progressing rapidly, bringing hope to local residents who frequently struggle with traffic congestion. Piling work for the 29th pillar, located near the Hathi Ghoda Temple, is currently underway. The flyover, which will span 3.4 kilometres, will have both four-lane and two-lane sections to accommodate different traffic needs. This project is expected to significantly ease daily traffic jams, especially for residents of Mango.
The four-lane section of the flyover will be constructed near Dimna Road, specifically around the Blue Wells School area. This will allow smooth traffic flow from Dimna Road to Sakchi, benefiting people traveling to and from the Sakchi region. On the other hand, the two-lane section will connect the Mango New Purulia Road near Payal Cinema to the Marine Drive Maharana Pratap Roundabout, offering a route exclusively for those traveling from Sakchi. Importantly, people coming from New Purulia Road will not be able to use the flyover directly; instead, they will continue on the existing road towards Sakchi.
The flyover project, which is being constructed by Dinesh Chandra Agarwal, incorporates modern technology and high-quality materials. The estimated cost of the project is Rs 461 crore, with Rs 252 crore already sanctioned for the first phase of construction. The project is expected to be completed within 18 months, bringing significant relief to Mango residents who currently endure hours-long traffic jams. Deepak Sahay, Executive Engineer of the Road Construction Department, emphasized that the flyover will save both time and fuel while also reducing pollution caused by idling vehicles stuck in traffic.
Upon completion, this flyover will benefit residents of Mango, Dimna, Azadnagar, Sakchi, Bhuinyandih, and Vishtupur, providing smoother connectivity and reducing congestion significantly.
