Consensus achieved on pension issue in talks between Anganwadi workers and minister

Ranchi: In a meeting between the delegation of the Jharkhand State Social Welfare Anganwadi Employees Union and Social Welfare, Women and Child Development Minister Joba Majhi on Wednesday, a consensus was reached on the long-pending pension issue. Led by State General Secretary Ashok Kumar Singh Nayan, the union delegation raised the demand for allowances for contract workers, pending for the last 11 months.

During the talks, the regularization of female supervisors, statistical assistants, clerks, and typists working on a contract basis in the Child Development Project was discussed in detail. An agreement was reached on the issue of pension or lump sum payment. Minister Joba Majhi assured that a decision to address discrepancies in contractual allowances would be taken in the next cabinet meeting after consultation with senior officials. The minister emphasized the government’s seriousness in addressing the demands previously presented by the federation and stated that departmental officials would be directed to find a solution soon.

State President Devanti Devi, along with union members Bam Shankar Sharma, Sundari Tirkey, Prayag Prasad Yadav, Gudiya Devi, Umera Khatoon, and Lalita Devi, were present during the discussions.
