Congress workers protest against PM Modi’s Khadi photo, demonetization

Jamshedpur, Jan. 15: District Congress committee workers on Sunday staged a protest against Mahatma Gandhi’s photo being replaced on the Khadi Gram Udyog calendar with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s photo, at Sakchi on Sunday.

The party workers dressed as half naked and holding a bowl was also up against the demonetization. The protestors were also seen an effigy of Prime Minister Modi with shoes wreath and shouted slogans ‘Mahatma Gandhi ka Apmaan Nahi Sahega Hindustan’ and ‘Modi Sarkar Murdabaad’.

The protest was headed by district congress committee president Bijay Khan. He said, people of the country are still facing issues of demonetization and demanded that all the Khadi Udyog calendars printed with Modi’s picture be withdrawn.

The act of the BJP government is an insult to Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi and we strongly condemn the same, added Khan. Since the demonetization, common people of the country are facing huge problems and small traders are worried to earn a living.

He further said that Prime Minister does not know the symbolism of khadi as he has been wearing a suit worth several lakhs. Prince Singh and other congress workers said, BJP is celebrating ‘Vikas Parv’ but the crime is in its highest level since the government took over.

Modi has only made hollow promise of running a bullet train and bringing back the black money from the Foreign, they added. On the occasion Rahul Goswami, Laddu pandey, Rajkishore Prasad, Pavan Kumar bablu, Neeraj Singh, mayank Pratap Singh, Ashish Singh, Kuldeep Singh, Avtar Singh, Naveen Mishra, Rahul rajak, Neeraj Sao, Jaswant Singh, Ramesh Sinha, Amit Raj and others were present.
