Congress takes out tractor rally from Hata to Haldipokhar to protest against farmer’s bill

Jamshedpur : A tractor rally was taken out by the East Singhbhum District Congress Committee on Monday in protest against the effective farmers bill in the country. Tractor rally traveled from Hata to Haldipokhar. Under the aegis of the Potka Block Congress Committee, a tractor rally – Khet Bachao Yatra was organised to withdraw the agricultural bill.

 The rally was attended by District Supervisor Amarendra Singh as Chief Guest and District President Bijay Khan, Brajendra Tiwari, Sanjay Singh Azad, Satish Tirkey, Jasai Mardi as distinguished guests. The program was presided over by Potka Block President Anand Das. The leaders were welcomed by District General Secretary Somen Mandal, Subodh Singh Sardar, Jabibullah, District Secretary Jairam Hosada.

The chief guest bowed at the statue of Lord Birsa Munda and launched a tractor rally. The management of the program was done by Sanjay Singh Azad and Brajendra Tiwari on behalf of the district.

Congress District President Bijay Khan said that farmers have been cheated on a large scale. The livelihood of farmers has been brutally attacked. These three laws will not directly benefit the farmers but the capitalists. Before bringing the law, no opinion was taken from the farmers organizations. Despite heavy opposition in both houses of Parliament, the BJP government forcibly passed the Agriculture Act.

These black laws will only harm the farmers. The law restricting the storage of grains has been abolished by the first law. Through the second law, government agricultural markets and markets will be destroyed. By the third law, capitalists, private investors, companies will enter into commercial agreements with farmers on their terms. Farmers will be made laborers in their own fields. If there is any dispute in the contract, the farmers will have to go round the bureaucracy and system. This will lead to exploitation of farmers and land grab.
