Jamshedpur: Acting on the directives of former minister Banna Gupta, Congress workers from Mango submitted a memorandum to the Deputy Commissioner, demanding immediate resolution of the waste disposal crisis plaguing the area.
The workers alleged that waste collection in Mango has been halted for the past four days due to a complaint filed by the current MLA with the National Green Tribunal (NGT). Congress leader Nitesh Mittal stated that piles of garbage scattered across Mango are emitting foul odors, posing a serious risk of an outbreak of diseases.
Another Congress member, Rakesh Das, accused the municipal corporation of neglecting essential measures such as spraying bleaching powder and conducting fogging operations. Ajay Mishra highlighted that Banna Gupta had envisioned a clean and beautiful Mango, but the current scenario is marked by unbearable stench and mounting garbage.
The Congress workers have warned that if waste disposal is not resumed within 24 hours, they will organize a symbolic protest outside the municipal corporation office.
