Jamshedpur: The women and youth wing leaders of district Congress committee organized a demonstration at the police office on Tuesday to protest against alleged misbehavior and highhandedness shown by local police officials to Zeba Khan, wife of Congress leader Firoz Khan.
Demanding a high-level investigation into the allegations of misbehavior against the officers of Mango police station, the women�s wing president Usha Yadav and state secretary Rakesh Sahu said the deputy commissioner and senior superintendent of police should conduct a probe into the incident.
They said the accused police officials should be suspended with immediate effect. They raised slogans against the police and the district administration.
They said the �indecent� behavior of the police officials as alleged by Zeba Khan was condemnable and that such incidents instilled fear and a sense of insecurity in women who lived alone in their houses.
Among those present during the demonstration included Parvinder Singh, Jyotish Yadav, Jitendra Singh, Ashish Mukhi, Sanatan Bhakat, Krishna Thakur, Aruna Mukhi, Kamlesh Sao, Shravan Sao and Mukesh Yadav.
