Ranchi: As per previous announcements the State Congress committee under the leadership of its president Sukhdev Bhagat staged dharna at Bisra Chowk near the assembly against anti-people policies of the BJP government.
The Congress organized the dharna to press for the demands of revocation of land ordinance, enactment of domicile and recruitment policy, withdrawal of VAT on petroleum products, improvement in law and order scenario, action against horse-trading, hike in minimum support price for rice and rice purchase centres.
Later in the day a delegation of the party led by Sukhdev Bhagat met the chief minister at the assembly and handed over a memorandum. The delegation comprised Alamgir Alam, Manoj Yadav, Badal Patralekh, Geetashree Oraon, KN Tripathy, Uday Shankar Ojha and others.
