Jamshedpur, Dec 24: Jamshedpur MP Bidyut Baran Mahato launched a scathing attack on the Congress party during a press conference on Monday. He accused Congress of consistently disrespecting Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar while using his name for vote bank politics. “Congress has always insulted Baba Saheb and worked to marginalize his principles,” said Mahato, highlighting attempts to defeat Ambedkar in the 1952 and 1954 elections.

He also criticized Congress for not honoring Ambedkar with the Bharat Ratna during its rule. “It was the BJP-led government in 1990 that gave Baba Saheb the respect he deserved by awarding him the Bharat Ratna,” Mahato remarked.

Congress insulted Baba Saheb: State Spokesperson Kale
BJP state spokesperson Amarpreet Singh Kale accused Congress of spreading lies about Home Minister Amit Shah’s recent statement. He urged the public to listen to Shah’s full speech, saying, “Rahul Gandhi and Congress are misleading the people by using a short clip from a seven-minute address.”

Kale emphasized the BJP’s respect for Ambedkar, saying, “Baba Saheb lives in the hearts of all BJP workers. We have always upheld his principles.”

Congress ignored Ambedkar’s contributions: Sudhanshu Ojha
BJP Jamshedpur Mahanagar President Sudhanshu Ojha accused Congress of systematically insulting Ambedkar. “Congress played a key role in Ambedkar’s electoral defeats, his resignation from the cabinet, and even allowed an insulting cartoon of him in NCERT books,” Ojha alleged.

He added, “Congress leaders honored themselves with the Bharat Ratna but ignored Baba Saheb. The tribal and Dalit communities are now recognizing Congress’s selfish use of Ambedkar’s legacy.”

BJP highlights achievements honouring Ambedkar
Mahato and other leaders outlined BJP’s initiatives to honor Ambedkar, including developing pilgrimage sites related to his life and establishing the Dr. Ambedkar International Center. “Prime Minister Modi declared 26 November as Constitution Day, reinforcing Ambedkar’s contributions to democracy,” Mahato said.

The BJP leaders concluded by criticizing Congress for its alleged divisive politics, claiming it aims to confuse the public for political gain.
