Congress dharna in demand for improvement at MGMH

Jamshedpur, July 6: In view of the call given by the Congress state committee, the district committee members sat on a dharna near the MGM Hospital roundabout. The party�s state president Dr Ajoy Kumar was present on the occasion. The dharna programme was presided by Rahul Goswami. The protest had been called to draw attention to the pitiable conditions prevailing in government health service centres including MGM Hospital.

Later a delegation of the district Congress met the MGM Hospital Superintendent and handed him a charter of demands. The Hospital super assured that all steps would shortly be taken to eradicate the prevailing problems. Congress district president Vijay Khan warned that if the hospital administration did not take serious note of the problems pointed out in the charter, then the party�s committee would be forced to go on a hunger strike till the demands were met for which the hospital management would be responsible.

The Congress charter of demands handed to the MGM Hospital Superintendent included elimination of medicine scarcity in the hospital, proper water supply, constant clearing of garbage and other wastes inside the hospital and in its compound, pinning responsibility on those manning the emergency ward, good behaviour of doctors with patients, carrying out repairs to the hospital building, taking serious note and action on wrong treatment of patients and proper care of mother and child during pre and post natal periods. Present on the occasion were Rakesh Sahu, Ashok Choudhary, Anand Bihari Dubey, Aparna Guha, Jitendra Singh, Paritosh Singh, Bablu Jha, Prince SIngh, Purvi Rani Dutta, Geeta Singh and others.
