Chandil: A janata durbar (public hearing) was organized by the Seraikela-Kharsawan district administration at Raghunathpur forest rest house in Nimdih block on Friday. The deputy commissioner Hansraj Singh, superintendent of police Madan Mohan Lal, MLA of Ichagarh Arvind Kumar Singh and senior administration officials were present on the occasion.
Many complaints poured in at the meeting. They were mostly related to old age pension, BPL card, road, electricity, water, Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme and other issues. Applications for their redressal were given to the DC and other senior officials of the district administration by the villagers.
One of the participants, Vaidyanath Mahato, the village head of Raghunathpur, complained against the sub standard construction material being allegedly used in construction of a road from Raghunathpur to Ramnagar. He said the stone chips being used in the construction was not up to the mark and that it should be replaced. The DC said a probe team would be set up and sent to the construction site immediately to find out the truth into the allegations.
The people alleged that the local administration officials were not doing their work in time despite frequent requests. At this, the DC said he had asked the officials of the various departments to ensure that the grievances of the people were taken care of at the earliest without causing any inconvenience to the people. He said the officials should be accountable for their acts and behaviour.
Replying to various queries of the applicants during the public hearing, the DC said the various grievances of the people will be dealt with in a phased manner. He said the Adardih power sub station will be started by Deepawali. He said the people should immediately approach the nearest block officials to get details of the current status of their applications for pension and other government benefits.
