Jamshedpur, Jan. 20:The 27th National Convention of Indian National Suggestion Schemesí Association (INSSAN) was inaugurated at city hotel on Friday.
The convention was inaugurated by AB Lall, Plant Head Tata Motors, Jamshedpur in the presence of U S Bapat, National President, INSSAN and Sudhansu Pathak, Chairman, Eastern India Chapter of INSSAN and Vice President, Steel Manufacturing, Tata Steel.
While welcoming the delegates, Mr. Pathak mentioned that eastern India chapter has been very active in the INSSAN activities as evident from the organizationís 5th national convention is being held in Jamshedpur during the last 10 years. U S Bapat the national president of INSSAN in his address highlighted the work being done by INSSAN in promoting the suggestion activities in the country.
AB Lall, Plant Head, Tata Motors in his inaugural address highlighted the importance of employee engagement in improvement activities and how his plant has been greatly benefited in achieving the all-round good performance of the company. He also urged all the companies to make this part of their system to harness the full potential of all the workforce of the company.
This convention is unique in respect of highest number of delegates participating (310 from 44 organizations from Indian industry), more than 200 of them are from companies located outside Jamshedpur. 110 suggestion case studies, 37 technical papers and 12 evaluator cases would be presented during this 2-day convention.
The convention would also see 5 best companies in India namely TVS Motors, Bharat Electronics Limited, Ghaziabad, Godfrey Phillips India, Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Limited, Visakhapatnam and Rashtriya Chemicals & Fertilizers Limited Trombay unit presenting their best practices on the management of suggestion scheme in their companies.
