Jamshedpur: A community for budding poets and storytellers called Poets of Jamshedpur was launched in Jamshedpur on Monday at Starbucks. Over 50 literature enthusiasts gathered at the cafeteria to celebrate the art of words, marking the beginning of a new chapter for the city’s budding writers.

Along with the launching of the community, Poets of Jamshedpur hosted a one-of-a-kind event, where poets recited their poems.
Poets of Jamshedpur is an initiative taken by its founder Shrenya Soni. She said, “This community aims to bring the people of Jamshedpur a step closer to creating a community for people who share a love for literature. This space is open for all ages who can take part and express themselves through poetry and short stories.”
She added, “Poets of Jamshedpur would be conducting an event once or twice a month on Sundays in Starbucks for budding poets and writers.
Ajitabha Bose, a renowned author, filmmaker and publisher from Jamshedpur, was the chief guest of the event. He said, “Since there is no literary platform to celebrate literature, Poets of Jamshedpur is a good initiative to promote poetry and literature and building a community around reading.”
Upon talking to the founder of Poets of Jamshedpur, Soni said, “I wanted to create a space where writers, both young and old, could share their work and connect with like-minded individuals.”
People attending the event were also given a platform to recite their poems and short stories. The highlight of the event was ‘community poetry’ which was written by everyone attending the event and the poem was read out at the end.
