Jamshedpur, April 5: The proposal for opening a library given by Saraikela-Kharsawan SP Md Arshi was accepted whole heartedly and intellectuals and social workers got together and decided on opening a library at Mango’s Kabirnagar in Kapali. A committee was constituted for instituting a library and managing its affairs. They felt the need for a library especially for school and college students who could not purchase course books due to paucity of funds. The library, it was decided would be stocked with prescribed NCERT syllabus books and others that would assist students to participate in competitive examinations. Moreover, it was felt that those people who while away their leisure hours could come to the library and read newspapers and magazines that would be available there and update their knowledge on national and international affairs. Those present in the meeting assured their total cooperation in this essential venture.
The committee formed today included Prof Abdul Badr (chairman), Matin-ul-Haq Ansari (president), Dr Nidhi Srivastav and Khurshid Ahmad Khan (vice-presidents), Abdul Majid and Mumtaz Sharik (general secretaries), Abdul Aziz Nadvi (secretary), Md Irfan (treasurer) and Tahir Hussain (assistant secretary). The executive committee will include Sadanand Mahto, Anil Kumar Mahto and Moinuddin Ansari. Mukhtar Alam was made the press secretary.
