Health Minister launches statewide Pulse Polio campaign

Jamshedpur, Feb 27: State health minister Banna Gupta inaugurated the statewide National Pulse Polio campaign here in the city on Sunday.
Gupta said the state government was employing innovation as well as new technology to provide better healthcare facilities to the people. “We will keep this goal in mind in the upcoming budget. The budget will take the health department to new heights,” he said.
The minister gave Pulse Polio oral drops to two kids, Madhavi and Laxman, to mark the campaign launch. A programme was organized at the Urban Primary Health Central in Ramjanam Nagar, Kadma, wherein dignitaries lit a ceremonial lamp to start the vaccination drive.

Gupta appealed to the people to take children of age five years and below to the nearest Pulse Polio booth for oral vaccination. He said no child should be left out in the campaign. Many district health department officials were present during the programme. They included district malaria officer Dr Meena Kalundia, RCH Officer Dr Jujhar Manjhi, Urban Planning Manager Manish Kumar and Dr Jharna Banerjee.
