Jamshedpur: The city marked Pride Month on Sunday with the vibrant “Jamshedpur Pride Jalsa 2026.” The collaborative effort by the Jamshedpur Queer Circle, People for Change, Aadhar Seva Sansthan, and Kala Mandir featured a dynamic Pride Walk advocating for the rights, dignity, and social acceptance of the LGBTQIA+ community.
Rotary District 3250 Governor-Elect Anu Narang officially flagged off the march from the Super Center in Sakchi to Jubilee Park Gate 2. Over 100 participants—including LGBTQIA+ community members, local allies, students, families, and representatives from the Rotary Club of Jamshedpur West—marched through the streets carrying colorful pride flags and chanting slogans for equality.
The public gathering drew several local leaders and community figures. Members of the local Kinnar community also joined the walk to show solidarity.
Calls for Consultation on the Transgender Persons Amendment Bill 2026
During the event, keynote speakers addressed the legislative landscape, specifically focusing on the Transgender Persons Amendment Bill 2026. They urged policymakers to initiate broader consultations with the community while emphasizing a message of unity over protest.
Concluding the event, the organizing team thanked all partner institutions for their support. “Every person has the fundamental right to live with dignity and their true identity,” the organizers stated in a joint message.
