Jamshedpur: Washery II of West Bokaro Division and Bhelatand Coal Preparation Plant (BCPP) of Jharia Division of Tata Steel have been awarded the �Best Operating Coal Washery� award by the Coal Preparation Society of India. The award was conferred by Susheel Kumar, Secretary (Coal), Government of India at �5th International Coal Conference� held at New Delhi on November 6 last.
On behalf of Tata Steel, Madhurendra Prasad Sinha, Head (BCPP), Jharia Division and Rajeev Kumar Ranjan, Head (Washery II), West Bokaro Division received the awards. Both the washeries of Tata Steel received the award for best operational performance in productivity, quality, efficiency, environmental impact and safety thereby improving the overall efficiency of the plant.
Madhurendra Prasad Sinha, Head (BCPP), Jharia Division also bagged the award in individual category for Coal Processing Innovation Award 2016�. Sinha was awarded for his practical innovations that resulted in very significant improvement in capacity utilization, operational, quality improvement and environment benefits accrued by BCPP, Jharia Division.
