Jamshedpur: Former minister and MLA of Tamar Gopal Krishna Patar alias Raja Peter today criticized Chief Minister Hemant Soren for his statement on extremism in which Soren said that one day he could take arms in his hands under sheer compulsion of dire situation in the state.

The CMs statement that he may someday resort to the violent means adopted by Naxalites suggests a poor approach to the problem of under-development in the state and extremism. Whatever he might have tried to convey through his statement, it seems to be the result of his frustration with the system in the state.

Since he is in charge of the government, it is really a sorry situation as his statement speaks volumes of his helplessness, said Peter.

Peter said the situation today could have been better only if the CM had taken adequate care to run the government efficiently. He said it was not tough for anyone to make out the real situation in Jharkhand.

Asked about his decision to join BJP after quitting JD (U), Peter said he had joined the BJP as it was the only party that could form a stable government in Jharkhand. He said Narendra Modi had kept his promises after becoming the PM.

The former minister said any Mahagathbandhan (grand alliance) of parties other than the BJP was not going to work in Jharkhand. He said Modis magic was going to work again in the Assembly elections as the people were sure to vote in favour of BJP.

Speaking on the Tara Shahdeo case, Peter said he had full faith in the efficacy of the CBI which had been entrusted with the task of probing into the case.
