Jamshedpur: Social worker Lalit Das, president of city-based NGO, Lok Samarpan, celebrated the birthday of his father and Chief Minister Raghubar Das with the inmates of Anchal Shishu Ashram in Ranchi on Thursday. He spent time with the ashram children after cutting a cake in their presence. Other members of Lok Samarpan were also present on the occasion.
After the cake cutting event, snacks and gifts were given to children. The gifts comprised various stationery items and books. In return, two girls, Khushi Kumari and Bharati, presented paintings made by the ashram kids to Lalit Das.
Speaking on the occasion, Das said he was inspired by his father to work for the underprivileged children. Celebrating birthday with children gives a sense of satisfaction, he said.
Das was earlier welcomed by the ashram superintendent Sushil Kumar, trustee Nirala Kumar Tiwary and other inmates. He was also given a shawl by them.
Among others present on the occasion included Neeraj Kumar, Rupesh Kumar, Gyan Singh, Pradip Dubey, Varun Tiwary, Dev Kumar and Rahul Avasthi.
