Ranchi, Jan. 21: Jharkhand Chief Minister Raghubar Das warned on Thursday that the corrupt mukhiyas (village headmen) will be sent to jail.
Addressing the villagers at Kundo of Bhandara block in Lohardaga, he said henceforth no one will be allowed to loot government funds. From now, the people of the village will choose their priority and make their budget themselves. The Yojana Banao Abhiyan has been started with this view.
The CM laid emphasis on priotising agriculture and new water resources while making the budget. A pond should be selected in every village. He said that all the panchayats will be given more than Rs 80 lakh and it will be necessary to ensure that the funds are utilized properly. Instead of searching for jobs, people should acquire skills and become self-employed.
All panchayat buildings will be connected with IT by 2017 he said, suggesting the villagers to plant saplings and build toilets to keep their villages neat and clean.
He summoned the people to make this campaign a public movement and take care of the old age, widow, marginalized and deprived people of the society.
