Ranchi: Chief Minister Raghubar Das today expressed happiness over the admission of Jitisha Khetan, a physically challenged girl, in a private school of Dhanbad.
Sources said the said school had rejected the request for admission made by Jitisha’s parents. The CM took serious view of the issue and directed the school authorities to admit the girl without delay.
“The state government has instructed all the schools of the state not to discriminate among children. If such cases are reported again, strict action will be taken against the guilty school,” said the CM.
Earlier, a report was published in a newspaper about a private school in Dhanbad misbehaving with a divyang child and her parents at the time of admission. Taking serious view of the matter, the CM intervened in the matter to ensure the girl’s admission.
The CM said, “Improving education system in the state is the top priority of state government. Efforts should be made to make sure that children of poor people are not deprived of the opportunity to get educated. Teachers of government and private schools should be affectionate towards these children. When children will get equal opportunity of education, Jharkhand will become prosperous and self-reliant. Government is committed to provide quality education to children.”
