Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik marked a historic moment on Monday by laying the foundation stone for the Rs 6,225 crore Bhubaneswar Metro Rail Project. The ambitious venture is set to be completed within four years, providing seamless transportation from Bhubaneswar Airport to Cuttack via Trisulia upon its completion.
The foundation stone-laying ceremony took place at Ratgada Lenka Sahi near Trisulia, preceded by a spectacular 26 km long road show along the proposed metro project route. Crowds gathered on both sides of the road during the road show, witnessing traditional folk dance and music performances organized to welcome Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik.
Biju Janata Dal (BJD) supremo Naveen Patnaik engaged with the assembled crowd, posing the question, “Are you happy?” He declared, “Today, January 1, 2024, will be etched in the history of Odisha’s development. As promised, we are laying the foundation stone of the metro rail project.” The Bhubaneswar Metro Rail Project is poised to be a transformative initiative for the region, enhancing connectivity and contributing to the state’s progress.
