Gumla, Dec. 11: Addressing the representatives from Gumla, Simdega, Khunti, Lohardaga and Ranchi at a pre-budget seminar, Chief Minister Raghubar Das said on Friday that his government wants to ensure people�s participation in governance. To ensure this, the government has organized a seminar before the Budget.
According to Das, the ensuing Budget (2016-17) will be the budget of the people. Farmers will be able to make the Budget according to their needs. The government will consider their valuable suggestions and try to implement them in the next Budget he said, summoning intellectuals to play their role in preparing the Budget for the development of the state at the seminar.
The Chief Minister said that their valuable suggestions will play a crucial role in the development of electricity, road, education, technical education, industry and employment and elevate the lives of the down trodden and marginalized people of the state.
Das added that the government and people should coordinate to ensure development. He said that all sections of the society should come forward hand in hand and uproot all social evils like witchcraft, illiteracy and other such practices from the society. Moreover, he said that the establishment of Jan Samvad Kendra has connected the people with the government
The CM said that 10,000 teachers will be appointed by April 2016 and the construction of women�s colleges in 11 districts will be commenced in the next fiscal year. Benches, desks and other basic infrastructures will be strengthened in government schools. At the same time, renowned institutions outside Jharkhand will be invited for imparting higher education. The government has recommended JPSC to appoint professors in colleges.
Educationist Amitabh Bharati said that the government should focus on higher education and ratio of teacher and students should be balanced. Moreover, the government should not engage the teachers in other activities. Economist Devraj from Simdega laid emphasis on building a big hall for conduction of examination. He said that there is much potential of tourism in Simdega. He said that Ramrekha Dham where Lord Ram stayed during Treta Yuga should be developed in as a tourist spot.
Farmers from Lohardaga suggested developing food promotion centers and establishing cold storages for the preservation of vegetables produced at large scale at Lohardaga. They said that electricity should be made available nearby rivers so that fields could be properly irrigated.
Union minister Sudarshan Bhagat, MLA Shankar Uraon, principal secretary to the CM Sanjay Kumar, principal secretary, UDD N.N.Sinha, principal secretary, Health K. Vidyasagar, principal secretary, Water Resource Department, Sukhdev Singh, State education secretary Aradhana Patnayak, secretary, RWD M.R. Meena, Gumla DC Dinesh Chandra Mishra, Simdega DC Vijay Kr. Singh, Khunti DC Dr. Prasad Krishna Baghmare, Ranchi DC Manoj Kr. and other intellectuals were present at the meeting.
