Ranchi, Nov. 17: Expressing concern over exclusion Jharkhand cities in the sanitation survey, Chief Minister Raghubar Das today said that the state should endeavour to get its cities enlisted in the survey.
�No campaign can be successful without public participation. We should work with the goal of cleanliness in our mind,� the CM said while addressing a regional workshop on sanitation survey conducted by the Urban Development Department.
Das directed the team of local bodies to make a roadmap for generating electricity through recycling of garbage. He advised the bodies to consider other alternatives of producing electricity as well.
�We should try our level best to make the urban area open defecation free (ODF) by December this year. People should be linked to this campaign. Common toilets should be made for the slum dwellers and operated by local people through a committee,� the CM said.
UDD Minister C. P. Singh, Ranchi Mayor Asha Lakra, Chas Mayor Bholu Paswan, Principal Secretary UDD Arun Kumar Singh, SUDA Director Rajesh Kumar Sharma, deputy advisor, Union Urban Development Department Dr Ramakanth, deputy mayors of different municipal bodies and other officers were present on this occasion.
