Ranchi, Dec. 22: Chief Minister Raghubar Das on Thursday said that this year, paddy has been produced in abundance in the state and the farmers will be paid at the rate of Rs. 1600 per quintal. He said that bonus will also be given.
Das directed to work according to plan so that maximum farmers can get benefit of the scheme. Farmers should be registered by conducting camps and make them aware about it.
He said that more purchasing centers should be opened in those districts where paddy has been produced in abundance, added CM during‘paddy procurement meeting’ with the officers. The DAOs (district agriculture officers) should make teams of cooperative and supply officers and coordinate. The farmers should not be vexed at any cost. The ministers should also go on spot and review the situation.
He also directed to make long time scheme to produce as much rice as purchased for MDM and BPL families.
The PDS secretary Vinay Kr. Choubey said that this year, the govt. has targeted to purchase 4 lakh metric ton of paddy while last year, 2.5 lakh metric ton paddy was bought.
44 thousands farmers have been registered and the govt. targets to register 55 thousand farmers by March, 2017. The registered farmers are informed through MMS.
PDS Minister Saryu Rai, Agriculture Minister Randhir Kr. Singh, CS Raj Balaverma, Addl. CS Amit Khare, Agriculture Sec Nitin Madan Kulkarni and other officers were present on this occasion.
