Ranchi, Dec 22: Reviewing the agriculture department, chief secretary Raj BalaVerma directed that paddy procurement should be started in the forthcoming 20 days and all the seed producing farmers should be paid within 48 hrs of seed procurement. She said that seed farmers should be corresponded and aadhar and account number of those farmers should be collected before seed procurement for payment purpose.
Verma said that seed storage should be ascertained properly at Marketing Board godowns so that they are not spoiled. They should be tagged also. 3 lakh quintal seeds have been produced and harvesting has been completed. It was also suggested to reevaluate the Food and Seed Corporation to make them accountable and in remaining seed villages, summer kidney beans should be produced.
The CS directed that in the forthcoming budget, special crop scheme has been provisioned. These schemes should be made for agro-produces suiting the particular areas.
Laying stress on bean, pulse and groundnut production, CS said that 50-hectare cluster work plans should be made so that in the next fiscal, agriculture can be started in time. She said that license of chemical fertilizers should be given to ARYA youths and they should be tagged with MUDRA scheme.
The Dept. said that 300 rural ARYA youths have been given fertilizer license and process to tag with MUDRA is going on. Mrs. Verma said that areas having water bodies or irrigation facilities should be mapped and farming on all agricultural lands should be ensured with the help of mukhiyas.
She said that for paddy procurement, at least 10 -15 % farmers should be registered with ATMA for paddy procurement. She directed to complete farmer’s registration and soil collection by 30th December.
Agricultural Sec Nitin Madan Kulkarni, Agriculture Director Jata-Shankar Choudhary and other officers were present in the meeting.
