Claims Jharkhand climbed to 3rd position in fiscal management
Ranchi: At the conclusion of the Jharkhand Legislative Assembly’s Budget Session on Wednesday Chief Minister Hemant Soren presented a roadmap for the state’s development, detailing the government’s achievements and future plans.
He stated that Jharkhand is advancing rapidly in every sector and that the government remains committed to fulfilling its promises.
The Chief Minister asserted that Jharkhand has made a significant leap in terms of fiscal management, climbing from the 13th position to the third.
He declared, “We do what we say,” emphasizing that this defines the government’s working style.
“While previously only 1.2 to 1.3 million people received pensions, that number has now risen to 3.6 million. Provisions have also been made to provide pensions to abandoned women—a measure that underscores the government’s sensitivity,” Hemant Soren noted.
He mentioned that 5 million women are currently receiving benefits under the ‘Maiya Samman Yojana,’ and the largest budgetary allocation has been earmarked specifically for this scheme. The Chief Minister remarked that women are no longer merely beneficiaries; they are increasingly becoming decision-makers as well.
Hemant Soren stated that even greater changes are to be witnessed in the near future. He described the ‘Maiya Samman Yojana’ as a milestone initiative and announced plans to launch further schemes under its umbrella, including the “Johar Project,” “Maiya Balwan Yojana,” and “Maiya Udyami Yojana.”
He clarified that the government would not stop there; rather, it would continue to take new measures to ensure the economic and social empowerment of women.
The Chief Minister also highlighted the ongoing transformations within the education sector. He noted that thousands of students are applying to the ‘CM School of Excellence’ initiative, and under this very program, 40 students have already qualified for engineering courses.
He stated that while there were previously 80 ‘Schools of Excellence,’ another 100 new schools are now set to be opened.
“A sum amounting to 12 percent of the total budget—specifically ₹18,800 crore—has been allocated for education,” Soren added.
The Chief Minister mentioned that, for the first time, the government participated in the Davos summit, where the state secured new opportunities for investment. He expressed confidence that positive results are emerging due to sound policies, and that in the times to come, Jharkhand will set new benchmarks in development.
Hemant Soren stressed that those who had given up on dreaming are now moving forward once again, filled with hope.
