CM assures of zero power cut in Capital

Ranchi: The Chief Minister Shri Hemant Soren today directed for zero power cut in Ranchi and to connect all Panchayat Bhawan with solar lights.

He asked for preparation of a Detail Project Report (DPR) for underground cabling in the capital and the matter of power cuts for minor faults in Ranchi should be taken seriously.

The Chief Minister was speaking at review meeting of Power Department at the Project Building Office. He said that matter of implementation of schemes under Rajiv Gandhi Rural Electrification Project be taken seriously and the agencies working for it should be paid in time so that they take interest in completing the job in time.

At the meeting power production, transmission and distribution were reviewed point wise.

Instructing for use of 6500 acres of land of Patratu Thermal Power Station for installation of another power unit, the Chief Minister said that if the land and colliery was properly used the state would not only become self reliant in power but would be in position to supply electricity to neighbouring states.

Instructing for review of water reservoirs, the Chief Minister said that water has to saved for the state. At the meeting along with the functioning of Sikadri and Sawarenrekha projects, working of other schemes were also reviewed.
Speaking at the meeting, Power Minister Rajendra Prasad Singh said the issues regarding forest clearances that have cropped up in course of electrification would be soon resolved.

About the point of resource gap in the Jharkhand State Electricity Board, the Chief Secretary said that since the whole process had been computerized such flaws should not arise.

The Chief Secretary said that as the JSEB has feeder wise data about supply in a particular area, the bills should be raised accordingly. These data should examined properly and action should be taken against the junior engineers who had not done their work properly.

At the meeting, Principal Secretaries of Power Department Shri Bimal Kriti Singh and Planning Department Shri D K Tewari along with senior officials of the JSEB were present.
