CM assures full support for Jagdispur-Haldia gas project

Ranchi: Chief Minister Raghubar Das on Friday said the government will extend full support to the Jagdispur-Haldia gas project work.

After the project�s completion, India will take a long leap in the field of clean energy. The CM made the observation while talking to Union Petroleum Joint Secretary Ashish Chatterjee at Project Building.

Chatterjee said the work on gas pipeline under the Jagdispur-Haldia gas project will start from July this year. �Rs. 2500 crore is being invested in gas pipeline project in Jharkhand.

260 km area in Dobhi to Durgapur section will come under Jharkhand. The project is targeted to be completed in June 2019. City gas distribution work in Ranchi and Jamshedpur will be completed during this period in the first phase.

Bokaro-Dhamra gas pipeline work will also be completed during this period. After its completion, there will be two sources of gas availability.

Chaterjee said that 560 km pipeline is being laid in the state. In the second phase, other cities will be considered. PNG and CNG will be provided through city gas,� he said.

Secretary to the CM Sunil Kumar Barnwal, Industry Director K. Ravi Kumar, Gas Authority of India Director (project) Dr. Ashutosh and Executive Director K. B. Singh were present in the meeting.
