CM asks banks to improve Kisan Credit Card distribution

Ranchi: In the third review of Bankers� Committee, Chief Minister Raghubar Das on Friday said the banks should improve their work culture and dispose matters related with people�s interest promptly.

Das said that out of 38 lakh farmers, only 13 lakh have been given KCC. Despite so many meetings, KCC have not been made. Applications for bank accounts of sakhi mandals are pending which must be opened by 31st May through conducting camps. On this occasion, the CM inaugurated education loan portal and felicitated sakhi mandals and other institutions.

Das said that Rs. 700 crore has been budgeted for making the youths skilled. Lac and silk will be produced under Mukhyamantri Laghu Udyami Board and marketed. Other handicrafts will be marketed through boards. Banks should play their roles in this.

The CM directed the banks to make business correspondents to free the villagers from the brokers. State govt. is going to start rural bus service and bankers should provide loans for bus to youths in rural areas under Stand Up India. SC/ST and women should be provided loans promptly under Stand Up India.

MUDRA scheme should be sped up.

CS Raj Bala Verma, Additional CS Amit Khare, RDD Principal Secretary N. N. Sinha, Finance Secretary Satyendra Singh, Reserve Bank Regional Director Patrick Barla, NABARD CGM S. Mandal, SLBC MD Prasad Joshi and others were present in the meeting.
