Ranchi: Chief Minister (CM) Hemant Soren today directed that the provisions of the Child Protect Act be applied stringently and special work plan be executed at the district level. He was addressing seniors� officers at a meeting at his residence in wake of the return of Jharkhand children from Kerala.
He said that to investigate the matter the police should file a FIR, constitute a Special Investigation Team (SIT) and case be initiated in a fast track court. He said that the movement of children both boys and girls in the age of 3 and 11 from one district for education was serious matter. Everyone should be alert that such incidents were not repeated.
He said that district administration should keen an eye at the railway stations. He said that a complete data of the children should be complied to ascertain the reasons for sending them to another state. If economic status of their family was the reason then the administration should steps help the families under different government schemes.
The Chief Minister said that arrangement for the education of the children should be arrangement and if necessary the education department could consider opening of a minority residential school.
He said the government has to sensitive ion the issue of human trafficking and awareness campaign should be started which should be attended by members of the GRP and Police setup and alos officers from the social welfare department. If there was a case of the children being declared orphan even though parents were alive was a serious matter.
At the meeting Principal Home Secretary N N Pandey, DGP Rajiv Kumar (DC and SP of Godda from where children had been sent to Kerala) and other officers were present.
