CM announces 38 development projects worth Rs 246 cr for W Singhbhum

Chaibasa, March 04 : Chief minister Raghuabr Das unveiled online the newly constructed block development offices of Sonua and Haat Gamharia here on Saturday and announced 38 development projects worth a total of Rs 246 crore for West Singhbhum district at Sonua Block stadium ground.

Addressing a gathering of Mukhiyas and panchayat representatives, the CM said the government of Jharkhand is firmly committed to eradicate poverty in all its forms by creating self employment and employment opportunities in Jharkhand. He also gave a clarion call to the banned ultra Leftist outfits operating in the state to shun violence and join the mainstream of society.

Das further added, “God has given us a valuable human body and life. We should lead a comfortable and peaceful life for the well being of one and all. The ultras who would join the social mainstream would be helped by the state government in starting life afresh.”

The CM mentioned in his speech that West Singhbhum would get 30 percent of the income incurred through Mining every year and this year Prime Minister Narendra Modi has provided Rs 1000 crore from the fund that would be utilized for the development of the district. He also announced an honorarium of Rs 3000 per month for Manakis, Rs 2000 for Mundas and Rs 1000 for Dakuas.

Das laid foundations for a total of 11 road construction projects besides laying foundation stone for the revamp of three check dams, construction of eight panchayat buildings and five check dams.

He also expressed his commitment to visit West Singhbhum and Santhal Pargana frequently to monitor the ongoing development work and implement new schemes. He iterated his promise to make the state’s overall development as per the assurance given by the PM during election campaign in the year 2014.

Also present on the occasion, Singhbhum MP Laxman Gilua congratulated the CM for focusing on the development of West Singhbhum. MLA Joba Majhi and Zila Parishad chairman Lal Muni Purty also addressed the public. The DC and senior police officials were also present during the event.
