Dry weather in Jharkhand, Baharagora hottest

Jamshedpur, April 22: Residents of Jamshedpur and surrounding areas breathed more than a sigh of relief on Monday as they experienced a welcome change in weather with clouds gathered overhead providing a vital protective layer from the scorching sun. The maximum temperature in Jamshedpur saw a notable decrease of 3.7 degrees Celsius, with the mercury settling at 40.5 degrees Celsius. Baharagora, though, recorded a maximum temperature of 43.6 degrees Celsius.
While Ranchi and Gumla experienced light drizzles, areas in the southern and adjacent central parts of Jharkhand, including Bokaro, Hazaribagh, Khunti, Ramgarh, East Singhbhum, West Singhbhum, Simdega, and Seraikela-Kharsawan, were expected to receive rain till late evening. The wind speed during this time was expected to range between 30 to 40 kilometers per hour.
Meteorologist Dr. Abhishek Anand warned of a heat wave resurgence in the Kolhan division of the state starting from April 24. Residents were advised to stay alert and take necessary precautions to cope with the impending heat wave conditions.

The maximum temperature soared to 46 degrees Celsius in Baharagora, East Singhbhum, marking the highest temperature recorded in the state during this period. Conversely, Godda registered the lowest minimum temperature at 23.3 degrees Celsius.
Anand highlighted a heat wave situation prevailing in Baharagora and adjacent areas including Jamshedpur in East Singhbhum. Notably, Jamshedpur recorded a maximum temperature 4.5 degrees Celsius above normal, while Chaibasa observed a temperature exceeding the normal range by 4.2 degrees Celsius. Ranchi and Bokaro recorded temperatures 2 degrees Celsius and 3 degrees Celsius above normal, respectively.
