Clay collected from East Singhbhum blocks worshipped

Jamshedpur: Jharkhand government wants to develop Birsa Jail in Ranchi as a museum to pay tribute to Bhagwan Birsa Munda. The purpose of establishing a museum is to inform the coming generations about the great sacrifice and contributions made by the great son of India.

This was observed on Saturday by the MP of Jamshedpur, Bidyut Baran Mahato, at a ceremony organized at Jamshedpur Collectorate to collect and worship the clay coming from different parts of East Singhbhum.

Addressing the gathering, the MP said the state government had installed a large statue of Swami Vivekananda in Ranchi. �Swami Vivekananda had laid the foundation of a culturally, religiously, socially and intellectually strong nation. Similarly, Bhagwan Birsa Munda sacrificed his life for country�s freedom. In view of his unparalleled contribution, the government plans to construct a museum in his name,� he said.

Mahato said a programme would be held at the Morabadi ground in Ranchi on 23rd January to collect the clay from all districts of Jharkhand.
Other dignitaries present during the programme included the MLAs of Potka and Ghatsila and many district administration officials.
