Jamshedpur, Nov 9: Tension prevailed in Sakchi Gurudwara Basti on Monday evening after a clash broke out between two groups. The dispute, which began over an old feud, soon escalated into physical violence. According to police, both parties have filed cases against each other. One side lodged an FIR against seven individuals for assault and trespassing, while the opposing party later filed a counter-complaint against four people — identified as Jai Giri, Ashok Giri, Sandhya Giri and Sheetal Giri.
The second complaint alleged that a woman was assaulted during the incident, her sari and blouse torn and her gold chain snatched. The altercation reportedly occurred between 5 and 6 p.m. on November 6. Acting on information, Sakchi police reached the spot and brought the situation under control. Both groups were questioned and medical examinations were conducted.
Station House Officer said, “FIRs have been registered from both sides and investigation is underway. No arrests have been made yet.” Locals stated that such disputes frequently occur in the area over trivial issues and urged the administration to increase police patrols and monitor trouble-prone families to maintain peace.
